        Based on an announcement from the British university ranking agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) on June 11th, 2013, NCTU is ranked among the top 50 Asian universities for the first time in five years. With its outstanding performances, NCTU ranks 30th among the Asian universities, and 2nd in the national ranking.

        The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) agency's ranking index assessment is based on the following criteria: “academic peer review”, “recruiter review”, “average on research citation”“citation per faculty”, “faculty student ratio”, “international faculty student ratio”, and “international exchange student ratio”. NCTU was able to improve its ranking index by remarkable performances in areas such as “academic peer review”, “citation per faculty”, and “faculty student ratio”. The ranking result shows a great confidence in which not only that the school has a drastic enhancement in international orientation, research and development ability, faculty recruiting excellency, but NCTU is also steadily reaching the promising goal of becoming one of the top universities internationally.
